Please read and take notes on Chapter 1 of A Survey of Buddhism by Sangharakshita. You will need to bring the text with you. At present, this text is in print as part of Volume 1 of Sangharakshita's Complete Works or as a separate book. If you have problems getting hold of the text please let us know as soon as possible.
You can also listen to Chapter 1 online.
Read the chapter, make notes and think of questions and topics you would like to discuss in the groups. It would also be helpful if you could make summaries of each chapter. This will all take time. We usually recommend starting preparing for this retreat at least six weeks in advance.
Transcendental Principle 2 retreat:
The reading material and background reading are the same as the Transcendental Principle retreat. Please come prepared: re-read Chapter 1 of A Survey of Buddhism and make new notes and summaries of each chapter. Make sure you have also read Revering and Relying on the Dharma.
