The Eight Guidelines

If one can feel oneself as a member of the [Triratna Buddhist Community] working out that myth [of the Bodhicitta], that will give one a much truer idea of what is actually happening or what one is actually involved in.  It has to emerge as different people start becoming aware that the Movement is more than it appears to be.  And that will only happen when they start becoming aware that they are more than they appear to be.  They will become aware that they are playing a part in that myth and that their physical activity is only a bodying forth of that.  Then they will see that other people with whom they are connected are doing the same and in that way they will begin to appreciate the myth behind the [Triratna Buddhist Community] as a whole."

On this retreat we will be exploring each of the ‘Eight Guidelines’ to reflect on when preparing for ordination.  For those new to the ordination process, it will help you clarify what ordination involves.  For those who have been in the ordination process a while, it will help you step back and take account of what is alive in your practice, and what needs more attention.  Either way it is a rich and inspiring retreat looking at what the Dharma life is directly in our lives.

Suitable for GFR Mitras and Order Members. To be held at Tiratanaloka Ware.
