Deeper Harmony

“If a sufficient number of Order members achieve a real Going for Refuge, or even make a genuine effort to achieve it, there will be harmony in the Order. If Order members are in harmony, if you are in harmony, the Order will be strong. It will be able to resist both the dangers from without and the dangers from within.  But more than that, if the Order is spiritually united, if it is in harmony, then a truly wonderful thing will happen. The Order then will be the locus for the manifestation of the Bodhicitta.”

We know that harmony in the Sangha is important, but we also know that it is very hard to achieve.  On this retreat, we will practice skilful speech using the tools of Non-Violent Communication, Restorative Process and the advice of the Buddha.  It’s clear from the Pali literature that disharmony in the Sangha is not new!  At the same time, harmony in the Sangha is possible, and when it arises, it forms the conditions for deepening insight and great joy.  The team will include Sucimanasa, a NVC/ Restorative Process trainer from Germany.
