Precious Teachers

“What they were was more important to me than what they said. It was as though what they were was much bigger than what they taught. Nowadays, if I happen to do a sādhana that I was given by one or another of them, as soon as I start the sādhana they at once spring to mind and I have a very vivid sense of their presence. It’s as though they transcend their own teaching. Life can never find full expression, and in the case of a spiritual teacher, his or her spiritual teaching never fully expresses their realization.”

Start the new year immersed in the world of Bhante’s teachers.  In the foothills of the Himalayas, gazing at Mount Kanchenjunga, Bhante opened up his Buddhist world to Bodhisattvas and multiple Buddhas, to friendship and to new practices, teachings and teachers.  This retreat will be centred around the Going for Refuge and Prostration Practice and the stories of the teachers who influenced his life.
