The Four Gifts: Buddhism for a restless world

‘To lead a Buddhist life we need, above all, four things:
A vision of the kind of person we could become;
Practical methods to help us transform ourselves in the light of that vision;
Friendship to support and encourage us on the path;
And a society or culture that supports us in our aspiration.’

Sangharakshita, Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow

To celebrate 50 years since Sangharakshita gave his seminal series of talks ‘Buddhism for Today and Tomorrow’ we will have a retreat following the same theme.  How can Buddhism help this time of social polarisation and conflict?  What can help us live a wholehearted, vibrant life?  What can we offer to the people we come into contact with?  Sangharakshita gives us a message of hope.  We, all of us, can live with greater wisdom and compassion, and we have the tools to make that a reality for ourselves and for others.  We can make a difference to a restless world.
