Going for Refuge (for carers only)

“We too are capable of gaining Enlightenment. This is what committing oneself to the Buddha means....It means recognizing Buddhahood as a practical ideal for human beings, and actually devoting all one’s energies toward the realization of that ideal.”

The theme of this retreat is Sangharakshita’s unique vision of the act of Going for Refuge to the Three Jewels as the “central and definitive act of the Buddhist life”. We will explore the levels and aspects of this act and how they are supported by a mandala of teachings and practices.

Open only to women who cannot come on a longer retreat due to carers commitments
